The tragic shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed teen in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson, and the reactions that followed has awakened the nation from the dream of a post-racial America. These events invite us to reconsider social justice, race and representation, the militarization of the police, economic justice, community empowerment, racial attitudes, and the rash of black male killings—topics that are just as relevant beyond as they are inside Ferguson. This forum invites the university community to speak out and be heard on these important issues, and to be a part of a plan for social change.
This event is free and open to the general public. Tickets are needed for entry and can be picked up at the Stamp Ticket Office, on the ground floor of Stamp Student Union.
