Research labs are the locus or place of the research activities of each faculty member. They are the settings in which the most recent scholarly work of each faculty member takes place and the places in which research enterprises are conducted and disseminated. Lab operation typically involves a faculty member as the team leader working with postdoctoral colleagues, graduate students, and undergraduates around a specific research topic or project. Labs are also a place for the training of undergraduates. Undergraduate volunteers can learn about and be involved in the research process from conceptualization to dissemination. Students interested in volunteering to participate in these labs will have the opportunities to help with and learn about reviewing literature, data gathering, data management, coding analysis, and the preparation of conference presentations and scholarly publications. Students interested in joining a research lab should contact the professor who is leading the team. For a list of current AASD Research Lab opportunities click the link below.
