Sophomore Al-Hafis Adegun, an African-American Studies major pursuing a concentration in Public Policy, and also a pre-Med student, was a recent participant in the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students. The conference was held in Phoenix, Arizona where Al-Hafis presented on a research project he worked on this past summer at the Association for University Centers on Disabilities.  His work was part of an effort to evaluate a program called "Nutrition for Everyone," which is a state and local initiative to disseminate nutrition information to people with disabilities.

In addition to presenting his research, Al-Hafis used this conference as an opportunity to network with a diverse range of both students and professionals interested in STEM. Al-Hafis is also a representative on the BSOS Dean's Student Advisory Council.
